Though they at first sight seem to offer nothing more than the adult content of Youtube and nothing new, that is not exactly the case. It is true that they, like Youtube, operate on the same principles. They allow users, an opportunity to store and share their home made videos with a wider public. Most of their other features also mirror the popular video sharing site. However there are sound reasons for existence of these specialized adult focused video sharing sites.
Fact is, it is difficult for websites like Youtube to handle home made adult video content with the same attention and focus as a specialist website. Given that large portion of users visit looking for such content, it is inevitable that they will prefer websites that caters to them exclusively. This focus is apparent in the ranking and category systems in these websites. Users can locate what they are looking for more easily in specialist adult home video sharing portals than on general purpose sites like Youtube
In addition to this lack of focus, Youtube cannot allow lot of adult content to appear in its main pages since the audience it attracts is wide and includes children. Such general purpose websites have to implement filtering systems of various sorts to keep the so called “nasty” stuff from the eyes of children and other concerned surfers.
